Backpack Buddies
We partner with Smith Elementary, a Title 1 school where the majority of students live below the poverty line, to provide weekend meals for families in need.
What We Do
Meals for the weekend, when school isn't there to provide them.
Smith Elementary is a Title 1 school, meaning a majority of its students live below the poverty line. During the school week, many of these kids rely on school meals — but weekends can leave a gap. Backpack Buddies fills that gap by packing and delivering weekend meals directly to families in need.
How You Can Help
A few ways to get involved.
Shopper
Help purchase the food that goes into each weekend meal bag.
Bagger
Help pack meals into bags, ready for delivery to families at Smith Elementary.
Delivery
Help deliver packed meals to Smith Elementary each week.
